Avahanaa ("we", "us", "our") helps people notify vehicle owners by scanning QR codes or entering vehicle details. This Privacy Policy applies to the Avahanaa mobile app and the Avahanaa web experience hosted at congestion-free.firebaseapp.com, including notification pages.
1. Information We Collect
a) Information from vehicle owners (app users)
- Email address and password (password authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication).
- Optional phone number.
- Vehicle details you provide, such as model, color, license plate, and asset number.
- QR code identifiers and related metadata.
- Push notification token (FCM token) to deliver alerts.
b) Information from people sending alerts (website users)
- Reason for alert and optional free-text message.
- Optional contact information you choose to share with the vehicle owner.
- QR identifier or vehicle identifier entered/scanned for delivery.
c) Contact page submissions
- Name, email address, and message submitted through the website contact form.
d) Technical and service data
- Device/browser information and analytics events via Firebase Analytics.
- Security and abuse-prevention data, including hashed request fingerprints derived from IP address and user-agent for rate limiting.
- Ad-related data collected by Google AdMob in the mobile app (for example, advertising identifiers and diagnostics, subject to Google policies).
2. Permissions and Camera Use
- Website camera permission: used only when you choose to scan a QR code in your browser.
- Mobile notification permission: used to deliver vehicle alerts to owners.
We do not ask mobile app users for camera permission in the current app build. The web QR scan feature processes camera frames for QR decoding; we do not intentionally record or store your camera feed.
3. How We Use Information
- Create and manage user accounts and profiles.
- Generate and resolve QR links for vehicle notifications.
- Send push notifications and keep notification history.
- Operate support and contact workflows.
- Improve reliability, security, and performance of our services.
- Show and measure ads in the mobile app via AdMob.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:
- Google Firebase services (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Analytics).
- Google AdMob for in-app advertising.
- Vehicle owners, when a sender chooses to share contact details in a notification.
- Authorities or legal bodies when required by law.
5. Data Retention
- Account, vehicle, and notification records are kept while your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
- Contact-form submissions are retained as needed for support and operations.
- Security and anti-abuse logs are retained for service protection and fraud prevention.
You can request account deletion in the app. When deleted, related app records are removed from our primary Firebase database, subject to legal retention obligations. For steps and retention details, see our Account Deletion page.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access-controlled cloud services. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Update profile details in the app.
- Disable notifications for your account or vehicle.
- Delete notifications and request account deletion.
- Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.
8. Children's Privacy
Avahanaa is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own through our cloud providers. We apply safeguards required by applicable laws.
